Travis Decker Ottumwa Baptist Temple Trump

In the summer of 2023, Travis Decker protested against equal rights for LGBTQ Americans, telling a local reporter that: “Truth is, you’re born male or you’re born female and really to say you’re something different you’re literally calling God a liar.”

It seems that Decker doesn’t understand what the word “literally” means. When a person says “I am male” or “I am female”, they are not literally saying “God is a liar”.

Besides, there is literally no verifiable evidence that the god of Christianity has ever said that people are born only either male or female. Nothing that Travis Decker says about his god can be verified, so it’s literally impossible to say that who’s lying about his religion and who isn’t.

While we’re talking about lying, however, let’s talk about a lie that has been verified with extensive evidence: Travis Decker says that Donald Trump won the 2020 presidential election. That’s a lie.

Joe Biden won the presidential election. Not a single one of the conspiracy theories from Trump’s Christian Nationalist supporters has been found valid in any court of law. Court after court has found Trump’s claims to be completely without merit.

Travis Decker is the liar.

If he really cared about lying so much, he wouldn’t do it himself.

The truth is, Travis Decker is just plain bigoted against LGBTQ Americans.

Travis Decker is pastor of the Ottumwa Baptist Temple in Ottumwa, Iowa.

In February 2016, Travis Decker delivered a sermon warning congregants in the Ottumwa Baptist Temple not to vote for Donald Trump, because Trump valued money over human happiness.

Now, for the 2024 presidential election, Decker is supporting Donald Trump.

Why? Donald Trump hasn’t changed.

What has changed about Travis Decker? What has changed at the Ottumwa Baptist Temple?

Donald Trump has promised his Christian supporters that he will use the power of the White House to defend and uphold their religion above all others. But what version of Christianity will that be?

Donald Trump’s Army of God: Christian Nationalism in the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition explores the culture of religious extremism, violence, intolerance, and dishonesty of the Iowa Christians who enabled Donald Trump to win the Iowa caucuses and seize the Republican Party presidential nomination in 2024.

The stories are shocking, but America cannot afford to ignore their lesson.
