Recently, Paul Dykstra has spoken in opposition to allowing non-Christian religious displays to be placed in the Iowa State Capitol alongside Christian religious displays. Dykstra believes that only Christians should have the power to place religious displays in government buildings.
In 2022, Dykstra campaigned to represent the 17th district as a legislator in the Iowa House, but he lost the Republican nomination to Devon Wood.

Also known simply as the Iowa Prayer Caucus, the goal of the organization is to provide political support for “leaders who are standing for faith, morality, and Judeo-Christian principles.”
Although the group says it stands for “Judeo-Christian” principles, there are only Christian members of the Iowa Prayer Caucus. No Jewish members have ever been admitted to the group.
