In the weeks leading up to the Iowa caucuses of 2024, Donald Trump bragged that he was going to get an endorsement from a Christian leader in every one of Iowa’s 99 counties.

Donna Miller is the only person he has listed from Union County among the endorsements from his Iowa Faith Leader Coalition.

If Donna Miller is not actually a religious leader, that means that Donald Trump failed to get the support from Christian leaders that he was hoping for.

Donald Trump lists Donna Miller in the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition as a “ministry leader” from Union County, Iowa.

The thing is, there isn’t any publicly available record of Donna Miller leading any ministry.

The Creston News published a thank you note listing Donna Miller as among the volunteers for a library initiative. The newspaper also wrote an article in which Miller reminisced about her times playing as a child in a local park.

Nobody in her home town of Creston has ever made any mention anywhere online about Donna Miller doing anything that would count as leadership within a religious organization or community, however.

So, why is Donna Miller included in Donald Trump’s Iowa Faith Leader Coalition? If she is such a prominent faith leader, how come nobody has ever mentioned her religious leadership even once, in a newspaper article or social media post?

There is a lot of theoretical talk about Christian Nationalism, but the new book Donald Trump’s Army of God: Christian Nationalism in the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition provides an analysis of Christian Nationalism that is grounded in what Christian Nationalists actually say and do.

The book is based on information about the 317 members of the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition.

You wouldn’t think Iowa would be the home of Nazi propaganda, murder, suicide, terrorism, money laundering and business fraud, Ancient prophecies of eternal torture, monsters and magic spells, faith healing and guns, and a growing Christian Nationalist appetite for global genocidal war. Defying expectations, that’s just what the authors found.
