Dick Green is a Divine Healing Technician with John G. Lake Ministries.
John G. Lake Ministries is headquartered in Plano, Texas, but Dick Green lives in Linn County, Iowa.
What is a Divine Healing Technician?
A Divine Healing Technician is a faith healer who claims the power to raise people from the dead and cast demons out of peoples’ bodies.
A person becomes a Divine Healing Technician by taking a three-day course, or reading a book, or watching a video bought from the John G. Lake Ministries online store.
There is a version of this training for children. Children can become Divine Healing Technicians.
It takes medical doctors many years of education and hands-on training to gain a license to practice medicine. To become a Divine Healing Technician requires $25 and three days.
A story of a faith healing by Dick Green is cited on the John G. Lake Ministries web site. In this instance, Dick Green spoke remotely with the parents of a two-and-a-half year old girl diagnosed with Down syndrome.
Down syndrome is diagnosed through a genetic test. It is the most common chromosomal abnormality in the United States, and it is extremely well-researched. Down syndrome cannot be cured. It never simply disappears.
Nonetheless, Dick Green told the parents that their child could be cured of Down Syndrome through prayer and magical faith healing. Green convinced the parents that his work with them eliminated their child’s Down syndrome. According to John G. Lake Ministries, the parents said:
“We know we have the victory and she is healed and set free from Down Syndrome.”
John G. Lake Ministries will not share the full names of these parents, referring to them only as Brian and Catrina. So, there is no way for anyone to check and see what actually happened to Brian and Catrina’s child, or even to confirm that Brian and Catrina actually exist.
That’s the opposite of a scientific approach to medicine, in which all experiments have to be transparent and capable of replication. Before a scientific medicine can be approved for use, it has to go through years of testing. It’s checked and double-checked, and even after a medicine is approved for public use, it remains under scientific and regulatory scrutiny to check for harmful effects.
In contrast to that, when a person wants to become a Divine Healing Technician with John G. Lake Ministries, all they have to do is take a three-day course. That’s it.
To claim to be able to cure Down syndrome through magical rituals learned in a 3-day Divine Healing Technician training course is dishonest. It’s bearing false witness.
It is immoral.
An endorsement of Donald Trump by someone like Dick Green is a reason to vote against Donald Trump.
Donald Trump has promised his Christian supporters that he will use the power of the White House to defend and uphold their religion above all others. But what version of Christianity will that be?
Donald Trump’s Army of God: Christian Nationalism in the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition explores the culture of religious extremism, violence, intolerance, and dishonesty of the Iowa Christians like Dick Green who enabled Donald Trump to win the Iowa caucuses and seize the Republican Party presidential nomination in 2024.
The stories are shocking, but America cannot afford to ignore their lesson.
