Amy Neighbor Center Point Iowa Trump Christian

Of course, if a person wants to be a full-time parent, and they have the economic privilege to do that without taking on a job to support their family with outside financial income, that’s fine.

If someone is really being a full-time parent, however, that means that they don’t have the time to do other things, like being a bona fide religious leader.

Amy Neighbor claims that she’s just been a full-time mother since before the turn of the century. There’s no evidence that she’s had any job in any religious organization, or that she’s taken on significant leadership roles that would specially qualify her to advise the rest of the nation on the worthiness of Donald Trump to be President of the United States.

So, why does the Trump for President Campaign list Amy Neighbor as a “faith leader”?

Can anyone walk up to the Trump for President 2024 campaign and claim to be a religious leader, and get listed as such?

Amy Neighbor is listed by the 2024 Trump for President campaign as a “ministry leader” in Linn County, Iowa…

…but Amy Neighbor of Center Point, Iowa doesn’t describe herself as a ministry leader. On her LinkedIn profile, she lists herself as having the position of “full time mom”from November 1998 through the present time. Her Facebook profile lists “no workplaces” and no other community involvement.

Many people have a difficult time understanding why some Christians are such fervent devotees of Donald Trump. To grasp what motivates Trump Christians, it’s essential to look at what they actually say and do.

In the new book Donald Trump’s Army of God, authors Clifford and Anise Cook provide a case study of Christian Nationalism in the Iowa Faith Leader Coalition.

Instead of speculating, they looked at the evidence available to the public, and found murder, terrorism, a lust for religious war, fraud, corruption, bigotry, demons and Nazi propaganda surfing through the minds of Donald Trump’s Christian supporters in Iowa.

It’s a bizarre realm of faith-based fascism, but we can’t just dismiss it. In 2024, more than ever, we need to take this strange movement seriously.
